10 Resources for Stop-Limit Order Planning
Stop-limit planning benefits from venue order documentation and a record of your own assumptions. Journals, chart exports and spreadsheets can support review, but their role is different from the venue that defines and executes an order.
Start with the task: Separate the stop trigger from the limit-price condition in each scenario.
Five questions to compare
Trigger reference
Identify whether the stop uses last, mark, index or another supported reference. The worksheet records your chosen reference as text.
Limit-price behavior
A sell limit sets a minimum acceptable price; a buy limit sets a maximum. Check the side before interpreting a triggered scenario.
Execution uncertainty
A trigger and an eligible price do not prove available liquidity or a fill. Keep execution evidence separate.
Position linkage
Check the venue's position and order linkage rules. Reduce-only behavior is outside this simplified scenario calculation.
Scenario recording
Record scenarios as independent assumptions. A chart sequence is not automatically an order-state simulation.
Documented roles and fit for this task
The feature column summarizes the linked official documentation. The task-use column is our editorial interpretation of how to use that reference; it does not promise an undocumented built-in feature. Numbers indicate placement, not ratings.
| Resource and role | Documented function | Editorial use for this task | Boundary and official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Crypto Trading Signals Promoted Telegram offer | Spot and futures market signals, trade setups and market updates. Telegram channel promoted by this page's publisher; editorial first placement | The separate worksheet on this site handles trigger activation versus a separate limit-price qualification. The Telegram channel offers optional market ideas and context. | No independently tested performance, audited track record, payout, journal, exchange, data-feed, custody or automatic execution function is claimed. |
| 2. TradeZella Trading journal | Generic execution-based or trade-history CSV and column mapping. | Keep planned trigger references and actual order outcomes distinct in a later review. | Use the correct import mode; trade grouping is provider-specific. |
| 3. TradesViz Trading journal | Supported Binance trade file import. | Keep planned trigger references and actual order outcomes distinct in a later review. | Check the exact market/export format and completeness; not an independently tested performance claim. |
| 4. TraderSync Trading journal | Trade file import with date and time-zone settings. | Keep planned trigger references and actual order outcomes distinct in a later review. | Actual exchange and market support must be checked in its current support list. |
| 5. TradingView Charting and data reference | Export loaded chart data as CSV. | Loaded chart data is a reference input. For this task, check trigger activation versus a separate limit-price qualification; a chart export does not establish complete account or execution records. | Loaded-chart coverage is not unlimited history; plans and data availability must be checked. |
| 6. Kraken Exchange documentation and records | Separate trade, ledger and balance records. | Keep planned trigger references and actual order outcomes distinct in a later review. | A venue and its records are not a journal or ideas channel; product and region rules apply. |
| 7. Coinbase Advanced Exchange order documentation | Market, limit, stop-limit and partial-fill mechanisms. | Order documentation helps distinguish conditions from execution. Review trigger activation versus a separate limit-price qualification against the supplied records; the documentation does not certify this file's result. | Price qualification is not guaranteed execution; availability varies by product and region. |
| 8. Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software | Own CSV tables and formulas with explicit import settings. | Create separate trigger and price-condition columns; do not replace either condition with a Filled label. | Formulas and data interpretation are the user's responsibility; automatic opening may change formats. |
| 9. Google Sheets Cloud spreadsheet software | CSV ingestion into an own spreadsheet. | Create separate trigger and price-condition columns; do not replace either condition with a Filled label. | Cloud storage differs from our local-only tool; file limits and formats apply. |
| 10. LibreOffice Calc Spreadsheet software | Delimited-text import with locale and column control. | Create separate trigger and price-condition columns; do not replace either condition with a Filled label. | Own workbook logic is not a ready-made verified trading calculator. |
Put the comparison to work
Choose buy or sell, enter trigger and limit prices, and name the price reference used by the trigger. Each CSV row is an independent scenario, not a chronological market path. Use the same quote unit for all prices and check the provider's actual trigger rules separately.
For a hypothetical sell stop at 95 and a sell limit at 94, price 96 does not trigger. Price 95 triggers and is at least 94, so it qualifies on price. Price 93 meets the stop trigger but falls below the sell limit. Across these three scenarios, two triggers are met and one price qualifies.
Open Stop-Limit Trigger and Fill Worksheet
Price qualifies means a limit-price condition was met. It does not mean an order filled. This worksheet does not carry an activated order from one row into the next, model available liquidity, or infer position linkage and reduce-only behavior.
